 Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Mashed Potatoes:

    • Place the chopped potatoes in a large pot and cover with water. Bring to a boil and cook until the potatoes are fork-tender, about 15-20 minutes.
    • Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot. Add butter and milk, and mash until smooth. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Keep warm.
  2. Prepare the Fried Chicken:

    • In a shallow bowl, mix together the flour, salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder.
    • Coat each chicken breast in the seasoned flour mixture, shaking off any excess.
    • Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Fry the coated chicken breasts until golden brown and cooked through, about 6-8 minutes per side. Remove from the skillet and drain on paper towels.
  3. Prepare the Gravy:

    • In a small saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Stir in flour and cook for 1-2 minutes, until lightly browned.
    • Gradually whisk in chicken broth and milk, stirring constantly until the mixture thickens. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  4. Assemble the Bowls:

    • Divide the mashed potatoes among four serving bowls.
    • Slice the fried chicken breasts into strips and place on top of the mashed potatoes.
    • Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the chicken.
    • Spoon corn kernels over the cheese.
    • Pour gravy over the top.
    • Garnish with crispy fried onions, if desired.

Serve the Copycat KFC Bowls hot and enjoy the comforting combination of crispy fried chicken, creamy mashed potatoes, savory gravy, and cheesy goodness.
