Instructions:

Pound the Chicken:

Start by pounding the chicken breasts to an even thickness. This helps them cook more evenly and prevents one side from drying out before the other side is cooked through. Place each chicken breast between two sheets of plastic wrap or wax paper and gently pound with a meat mallet or the bottom of a heavy pan until they're about ½ to ¾ inch thick.

Season the Chicken:

Season the chicken breasts generously with salt, pepper, and any additional seasonings you like. This could include garlic powder, paprika, or dried herbs for extra flavor.

Heat the Pan:

Heat a skillet or frying pan over medium-high heat. Add olive oil or butter to the pan and let it heat up until shimmering.

Cook the Chicken:

Carefully place the seasoned chicken breasts in the hot skillet. Cook them without moving them for about 6-7 minutes on the first side until they develop a golden-brown crust. Avoid the temptation to move or flip them too soon, as this can disrupt the searing process.

Flip and Cook:

Once the first side is nicely browned, flip the chicken breasts using tongs. Continue cooking on the other side for another 6-7 minutes or until the chicken is cooked through and reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C). You can check the temperature with a meat thermometer inserted into the thickest part of the chicken breast.

Rest and Serve:

Once the chicken is cooked through, remove it from the pan and let it rest on a cutting board for a few minutes before slicing or serving. This allows the juices to redistribute throughout the meat, resulting in juicier chicken breasts.

Serve:

Slice the chicken breasts and serve them with your favorite sides, such as steamed vegetables, rice, or salad.

By following these steps, you should end up with tender, juicy stove-cooked chicken breasts that are full of flavor. Adjust the seasoning and cooking time based on your preferences and the thickness of the chicken breasts. Enjoy your meal!
