Instructions:

  1. Blanch the Green Beans:

  2. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the green beans and cook for about 2-3 minutes until they are bright green and slightly tender. Drain the green beans and immediately transfer them to a bowl of ice water to stop the cooking process. Once cooled, drain again and set aside.

  3. Sauté the Green Beans:

  4. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add minced garlic and red pepper flakes, and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.

  5. Add the Green Beans:

  6. Add the blanched green beans to the skillet. Stir-fry for 3-4 minutes, tossing occasionally, until the green beans are heated through and slightly blistered.

  7. Season:

  8. Drizzle soy sauce or tamari over the green beans, and add sesame oil. Season with salt to taste. Toss everything together until the green beans are evenly coated with the sauce.

  9. Serve:

  10. Transfer the spicy green beans to a serving dish. Garnish with sesame seeds and sliced green onions if desired. Serve hot as a delicious side dish.

Feel free to adjust the level of spiciness by increasing or decreasing the amount of red pepper flakes according to your preference. Enjoy your spicy green beans alongside your favorite main course!
